St Mark's Church of England Primary School

A family working and growing together to reach our potential.

A message from the Chair of Governors

Dear Parents and Carers,

On behalf of the Governing Board, welcome to St. Mark’s Church of England Primary School.

Our Christian vision for all here at St Mark's is:

‘Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.’

In knowing that God is always with us in everything we do our belief is that everyone can go on to fulfil our mission statement

“A family working and growing together to reach our potential.”

We offer an inclusive learning environment where everyone can experience challenge, enjoyment and respect.  We promote a culture of excellence, equality and high expectations, which embodies spiritual growth and lifelong learning within a caring, Church of England setting.

Our Christian faith values of Respect, Responsibility, Trust, Understanding and Fairness are at the heart of all we do each day as a school community.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum where our children take enjoyment from learning and every child is encouraged to do better than they have before at every turn. The excellent staff are experienced and dedicated and work in partnership with parents, children and the wider community to ensure that the children at St Mark’s receive the best possible experience.

As Governors we work closely with the headteacher. The main responsibility of governing bodies is to determine the aims and overall conduct of the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement. The specific duties of governing bodies include setting staffing levels, appointing headteachers, setting and agreeing the school budget, ensuring that a broad and balanced curriculum is delivered, as well as monitoring health and safety and the management of the premises. However, without a doubt, we consider that our most important role is to monitor the welfare and education of the pupils.

We are justifiably very proud of the children in our school.

Thank you to all involved for their hard work and continued commitment.

I have no doubt that the hopes and aspirations you have for your child will be fulfilled here at St Mark’s.
