Admissions Policy

Admissions to the school are the responsibility of the governing body. The local authority will manage the admission process. Parents of children wishing to enter St Mark’s should make an application directly to the Local Authority.

 
The following agreement between the governors, the Diocese of Manchester and the local authority lays down the criteria for admissions and procedures to be followed. 

School Capacity 

The capacity of the school (including Nursery) is 460.

The school is organised into 15 classes:

• Nursery,
• Reception,
• Key Stage 1; formed of Years 1 & 2;
• Key Stage 2 formed of Years 3, 4, 5, & 6.

The school standard admission number is 40 children for Nursery (20 full time and 20 part-time), and 60 children for Reception to Year 6.

Open Days / Visits for 2025 Admissions

The Open Days for 2025 Admissions have now passed, however if you have been offered a place at St. Mark's CE Primary School there will be opportunities for you and your child(ren) to see the setting in the Summer Term in the form of an admissions meeting (for parents) and settling in sessions (for your child). 

Open Days for 2026 Admissions

Open Days for 2026 Admissions will take place in the Autumn term. Dates will be available here when announced.
